Sheila Jagannathan is Head of the Open Learning Campus at the World Bank in Washington DC. She serves as the organisation’s focal point on e-learning and topics related to the intersection of technology and education in emerging countries. She has over 32 years of experience in designing and managing distance learning programs and knowledge products, and transforming online and classroom pedagogies and technology. She provides policy advice and technical assistance to both government and training institutes seeking to introduce technology into their educational systems in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Dr Jagannathan serves on the advisory board and planning committees of several professional associations such as eLearning Africa, the International Conference on E-Learning (ICEL) and the Association for the Advancement of Computer Education (AACE). Dr Jagannathan holds a Masters and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Boston University in Education Media and Technology and Artificial Intelligence-based systems for learning respectively.
