Kumba Musa works as a Data Scientist at the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI). She holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Masters degree in Information Technology and International Business. She is currently the Technical Lead for the education project at DSTI which involves the development of a web-based data interactive and visualization tool that will help decision makers make data-driven decisions about the performance of schools, monitor programme effectiveness and support efficient resource allocation.
Kumba is also the Founder and Executive Director of the NGO STEM Women Sierra Leone – an organization working to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education in Sierra Leone and increase the percentage and participation of women in STEM fields.
She is also the Creative Director of her boutique and clothing line KUMBA in which she designs African clothes that are sophisticated, luxurious and chic for all occasions.
In 2017 she was recognized as one of the Most Influential Young Sierra Leoneans. Kumba is a Queen’s Young Leader, One Young World Ambassador, Chevening alumna and a TechWomen alumna.
